Cheap Shots

Feb 17th, 2007

The Ann Arbor Area Krappy Kamera Club is organizing its first-ever gallery show, entitled “Cheap Shots: Silver Dreams of Plastic Cameras.” Everett and I both submitted work, and expect to have something accepted. I stuck with black-and-white Holga images for my submissions, though some of the recent work I’ve done with my Agfa Cadet B-2 box camera would have been great, if I’d only gotten the camera sooner! More info about the show is at http://www.mattcallow.com/cheapshots.html.

At the moment, I’m also running a roll of film through Mick’s Mamiya Super-16 spy camera. I’ll be excited to see the results, but since each exposure costs $0.50 in film alone, I’m trying to be thoughtful about the subject matter. Mick will get the negatives when I’m through, so I want to make images that he will enjoy.
